Dr. Julie Jung is one of the co-founders of the National Girls and Women of Color Council, Inc. and currently serves as a Board Member.  She is the chief operating officer of I Am Beautiful Global.  Dr. Jung believes that it is important to build a society where girls of color are valued since everywhere that girls of color turn, they are seeing inaccurate depictions of themselves in media, are told how they do not fit the ideal beauty standard, and are facing different forms of discrimination. For these reasons, she believes in providing a strong mentorship program for girls and women, so they can reach their full potential and be the change that is needed in this world.

Dr. Jung is the editor of the Journal of Colorism Studies, co-author of Live Life Beautiful: Affirmations for Girls of Color and editor of Living Life Fabulous at Fifty: Affirmations for Women of Color and co-editor of the upcoming Anthology, “Our Voices: Our Stories: Celebrating, Embracing and Empowering Girls and Women of Color.”
